I've done juuuust over a hundred stupid things O.o dang.

I usually write stuff like this in my Swedish blog, but since most of the people I'll be talking about would find it there eventually, it'd just be... odd. But I just had to write it down, so I'll be taking it here instead, no biggie.

Ever since I began high school I've been EXTREMELY insecure about myself. Just like any other teenager, really, but the confusion about my style, my interests, my sexuality and person in general... it was maddening. And like in any other class, there were these cool girls, the ones who were the most popular and all that jazz. They were kind people who liked everybody, but they didn't stand out in any way. They were just, well, normal girls that everyone liked.

I tried desperately to become like those girls. I got blonder, skinnier and wore the tightest jeans you could ever imagine. I listened to the most mainstream music and got into Orlando Bloom. I also met a friend who made me love cars and horses.

But it still just wasn't there. It wasn't me!

So during upper secondary school, I did a 180 and stopped caring altogether. I began wearing alternative clothes, allowed myself to indulge in as much anime and manga as I wanted, got into photography and gained twenty pounds. The friends I got or got closer to seemed to accept these changes and I grew more confident. It was okay to be different!

But my old friends just raised their eyebrows and wondered what had gotten into me. One of them kept trying to convert me back to sweet dresses and girl talks for several years. I figured out that she didn't like these new changes and felt hurt - it was still ME! More me than it had ever been!

Yesterday, I got back to her place to meet some friends; one from our little group from high school had been in Asia for the past six months and we wanted to throw a kind of welcome party. On the way there, I decided that I wasn't going to let anyone push me down. I was good just as I was.

And when I stepped inside the house, the friend who had been away practically trew herself over me.

"You look fabolous, girl!" She beamed and gave me a bone-crushing hug, then she saw my tattoo and squealed like a fangirl and everyone just gaped at me. The one who tried to convert me looked awestruck.

As the night went on, I dared to speak up like the others. I told stories about what had happened during the last few years, I talked about cameras and had something to say, I helped the "converter" with some computer stuff.

I suddenly realized that the other girls had accepted me right there and then. They even thought I was cool!

It was an odd feeling. Even the "converter" seemed content. Yes, I was a little odd. Yes, I still stood out with my weird hair and clothes and way of speaking. But they all figured out that I had a good life anyway: I'm going to move in with my boyfriend in a lovely apartment, I'm getting to use my brains at the uiversity, I can drive and even have a car. I'm satisfiedd with my life, in short.

I grew several inches last night. I really did. Even those girls accepted me. It was a miracle. I realized myself that I don't need to be like everyone else and that odd isn't the same as bad.

This maybe sounds like incomprehensible ranting to everyone else, but it's a wonderful feeling to know you're accepted among your friends, no matter how you look or what interests you have. So I'm just... happy. ^_^

There's one on my knuckle that I got when I swung my arms around too much while walking and it collided with an old wodden fence, ripping some skin clean off. (I don't think my friend's ever heard me curse like that before.)

In my whole aparment, there's two- no, three paintings/drawings that my friend, the fabolous here has made. A clock, my manga-bookshelf, a lamp, a Death Note scrollposter, a calendar made by and some other goodies.

A person who I thought was my friend for five whole years (when I realized that she didn't like me as I were, but the false image of wishful thinking that she wanted to make me fit into, I cried for a little while before I just got pissed - which I still am, by the way.)

Death. Not having chance at life before it's "my time", so to speak. But I normally suppress that fear, or I won't have the chance to enjoy life, you know?

Well. The first episode of "Fullmetal Alchemist - brotherhood" has been aired, translated and subbed. I've watched it of course.

AND I'M IN HEAVEN! *_* The art! It's so pretty! Paku Romi does an awesome job as Edward, Al kicks ass, YOUNG HOHENHEIM IS IN THE OPENING! We caught a glimpse of Father and Kimblee...

At first I was a bit sceptical about Bones animating a new, more manga-styled season of FMA, since Arakawa's characters are a tad different than what we usually see, but it was nothing short of awesome. Roy looked so much better in this version, and the coloring was so pretty that I didn't know where to lay my eyes...

And the opening.

GAH, THE OPENING. I dunno how many times I have said this today, but young!Hohenheim is, as someone on LJ said, sex on a stick. The music was awesome - Yui is one of my absolute favorites ^^ - and the animation flowed so nicely, and it was all made of so much awesome that I actually started crying of sheer happiness. I had forgotten how much I loce FMA, especially the manga (I'm a faithful subscriber, but still), and here Bones (who I alreay love because of Soul Eater, which is my latest crush) comes up with THIS!

I love them. I so, so love them.

Sure, there was the usual random bad-guy, the angsting, the usual jokes, but it was more like an homage to the former series than anything else. This first episode was clearly dedicated to the old fans and I love Bones for that. And we caught glimpses of some things which shouldn't have been revealed, but.. still! It was awesome! The art and pretty animation just blew me away! HUGHES IS ALIVE!

...though he's gonna die again ;_; . Crap.

In short: "FMA - Brotherhood" is already promising <s>and epic</s> and I love the world right now. ^^ Life is awesome.
